A clean and safe Environment - A necessity

Everyone on this planet desires for a clean environment, but man has been embroiled up in many things that cause harm to our surroundings. We had a cleaner river, a lot of green pasture, chirping birds, scenic mountains, wonderful forestland, and thicket with beauty everywhere. We really have to take the responsibility for. It is you and I who dumped garbage into the river, destroyed the lands and forests, poached animals, and screwed the mountains for mining blue metals.

That all doesn’t mean you were not free enough to live your world, rather it means you should care for the nature as much as it provides us with. When you have to live further or even think about your future generations, one must think about the environment too. A healthy surrounding would be a precious gift to them. You could see people wearing masks in China to combat pollution, as China ranks first in deadliest air pollution

To be healthy, choose your living wisely. Right from the food you eat, you may have it in an inorganic way. Spraying pesticides and insecticides for getting a good yield would never be a right choice. Urea as a fertilizer retards the natural soil fertility. Non-organic vegetables/fruits get coated with highly toxic arsenic metals which cause dangerous tumors and cancers in human body.

Think twice before dumping your garbages. It’s not that you have dumped it out of your house, rather it must be disposed in a proper manner. When you choose to separate the biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes, you are into saving the environment. Non-Biodegradable materials cause soil pollution. They degrade the quality of soil. A single plastic bag takes years to decompose . Make a better choice when choosing articles. Recycle them if possible.

These garbages not only affect our lives, but also the animals and birds that trust our environment. We have come across several articles that read, “Elephants die of eating rubbish”, “birds die of air pollution”, etc. The creatures are greatly affected by us and are posing threat to the ecosystem. Once the ecosystem fails, we start to fail. So, we should never give a chance for this. Water pollution causes major trouble to the living creatures under sea, river, ponds, and lakes. I myself have seen people who dump away the garbage directly into the river, which in turn pollute the river and the seas. Water is a precious gift for man. When we wrongly utilize it, it is you and I who are going to suffer. So think before you act. Stop unloading wastes into the water bodies. Industries are also on the wire on this same issue.

People are under several complications due to unhealthy polluted water, as of a report in NDTV. Several health complications would contribute to various diseases. As of now, water borne diseases have reportedly taken many lives. These water borne diseases are caused by several pathogens living in water. Many do not know that even groundwater can be contaminated with fecal pathogens from pit latrines.

When was in my 5th grade, my father took me to the nearby channel water along with my younger brother. We were so excited to take a bath in this man-made river as we haven’t used with it. A Lot of people come there to take bath themselves, their pets, or vehicles. Indeed, the river wasn’t clean. It had all stuffs of garbage and sewage water, which we initially didn’t know. The stream that came from the dam nearly pulled us to her route but my father was holding us firmly. Just then my brother accidentally gulped down the water down his throat. A week later he showed symptoms of fever and rashes all over his body. And, he was diagnosed with measles (Rubeola). He constantly had fever for a few days. In India, we usually take Homeopathy treatments for such contagious diseases. He was made to lie on Neem bed (made of Neem leaves; Scientific name for Neem: Azadirachta indica) and I was not allowed to go near him as he would spread the disease to me. I was also ministered with some medicines. After one week, he started to recover but I started to show the similar symptoms that he had. Now, I too got the disease. Yes the virus had attacked me too, though I took certain precautions. The rashes took two weeks to cure completely.

This was all because of the contaminated water.

So friends, please stop polluting our environment. Dispose ofgarbage in an effective manner, having future generations on your mind. Save the surroundings, save the planet and it’s all in your hands. Think of a cleaner planet for you and me and teach others about this too!
