How to track an ip address using email id?

You can find out the ip address of the computer from which you have received a mail. IP address allows one computer (or other digital device) to communicate with another via the Internet and allows the location of literally billions of digital devices that are connected to the Internet to be pinpointed and differentiated from other device. IP address tracking for Gmail, outlook (old version), Yahoo, and AOL can be done using the following steps.

Step 1: Sign in to your gmail account.

Step 2: Select the conversation of the mail id for which you need to trace the ip address.

Step 3: Click the inverted triangle at the top right corner and then select “show original” option as given below.

Step 4: Now you can trace the ip address from the message information obtained.

2. Outlook id

Step 1: Open your outlook configured account.

Step 2: Right click on the message containing the email id for which you need to trace the ip address.

Step 3: Now “Message Options” pop up box opens. The ip address can be found as in below diagram.

3. Yahoo id

Step 1: Login to your yahoo account.

Step 2: Select the message for which you need to track the ip address.

Step 3: Right click the message and then select “view full header” option.

Step 4: A dialog box appears where you can find the ip address of the sender. The ip address has been highlighted as below.

4. AOL Mail id

Step 1: Open your AOL Mail id account.

Step 2: Now double click on the message for which you need to track the ip address.

Step 3: From the new window, right click “actions” button and then select “view message source” option.

Step 4: You can scroll down the new window appeared to check out for the ip address you have received the message.

Note: Depending on the type of Internet service you subscribed, you may be getting a static or dynamic IP address from your ISP.
